My Hero

My Hero.

My beagle pup Matti, or as we lovingly call her "Mattidogface" has earned her keep once again by ridding our house from unwanted guests. (the eight legged kind)

This wasn't just any tiny little spider - this spider stomped around my bathroom like it owned the place. I swear it was wearing armor.

This blog doesn't have anything to do with spiders though. It is all about the love and respect that I have for our dog.

Don't you think that dogs have the best outlook on life? They are always happy to see you, always happy to get the scraps you toss their way and they always, always approach every moment with enthusiasm and optimism.

Matti reminds me everyday, that life doesn't have to be so serious. She is 8 1/2 years old and still wants to play like a puppy. She greets me with an abundance of joy and an infinite amount of love.

Humans, (in my humble opinion) could stand to learn an awful lot from watching a dog. Sure, the argument could be told that dogs remain that happy because they don't have the every day stresses that humans do.
(I am guilty of taking on stress and then groping about it or allowing another persons mood to affect my own...(dogs don't do that)).

My point (if I actually have one),is that our Ego is what holds us back. It confines us. It stores our past experiences along with our emotional reaction and then when we are faced again with a similar experience we know just how to react...or do we? If we were dogs, we would approach each experience with fresh outlook, with new eyes and without judgement.

Way to go Mattidogface!
